Hornswaggler | The culture, the humor, a bit of the sports, not so much the politics, and the workplace distraction

Hornswaggle is an alternate spelling of hornswoggle, an archaic word that means to bamboozle or hoodwink. I take my pronunciation from the late Harvey Korman in "Blazing Saddles" --

"I want rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers and Methodists!"

The Asterix Bowl

Texas made a valiant comeback attempt but wasn't able to overcome the injury to Colt McCoy on its first offensive series. I can't recall a more significant injury in a championship game. This would be like New Orleans losing Drew Brees in the first quarter of the Super Bowl. Texas would have had a really good chance to win this with McCoy too, given how their defense played, aside from a few big runs by Mark Ingram. Sorry Alabama. Asterix.
