Hornswaggler | The culture, the humor, a bit of the sports, not so much the politics, and the workplace distraction

Hornswaggle is an alternate spelling of hornswoggle, an archaic word that means to bamboozle or hoodwink. I take my pronunciation from the late Harvey Korman in "Blazing Saddles" --

"I want rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers and Methodists!"

By the by, one of the highlights of the Mountain Aire Festival was being front row, on a glorious California day in Gold Country -- land of Mark Twain's famous Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County, land of Cary Stayner (serial killer, who was the brother of "I Know My First Name is Steven" Steven Stayner - which fact apparently caused him no end of psychological difficulty) and his favorite place to dispose of bodies, and countless methamphetamine manufacturers all around the world (adopt boxing ringside announcer Michael Buffer's tone while reading that last bit. I must admit, I have the Lewis-Tyson fight on the brain today) -- while Derek Trucks playied Bob Marley's "Rastaman Chant." A commemoraton of my doing just that two years ago at the same festival, watching that song by that artist under the magnificent sun and the glorious "lapis lazuli dome of the sky.".
