Hornswaggler | The culture, the humor, a bit of the sports, not so much the politics, and the workplace distraction

Hornswaggle is an alternate spelling of hornswoggle, an archaic word that means to bamboozle or hoodwink. I take my pronunciation from the late Harvey Korman in "Blazing Saddles" --

"I want rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers and Methodists!"

Have the Philadelphia Eagles' (now perched at 6-2) victories over the New York Giants and Chicago Bears had any effect on the bizarre little world into which I've delved a few times now? Probably. Following today's ugly 19-13 victory over Da Bears the Eagles, despite their many rough spots throughout the first half of the season, are in excellent position to finish the season with the best record in the N.F.C., which, as I have said, is what their goal has to be if they want to get all the way to the Super Bowl this year.
