Hornswaggler | The culture, the humor, a bit of the sports, not so much the politics, and the workplace distraction

Hornswaggle is an alternate spelling of hornswoggle, an archaic word that means to bamboozle or hoodwink. I take my pronunciation from the late Harvey Korman in "Blazing Saddles" --

"I want rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers and Methodists!"

Krugman

Good blog post on Obama and the public option. Regarding Obama, as I watch his health care reform limp and stagger, I find myself wondering who this guy is. I mean, besides a Kenyan-born socialist and aspiring dictator. Where's the guy from the campaign? I knew he was a pragmatist, and some letdown from the lofty rhetoric of the campaign was to be expected, but I'm bemused by the White House's seemingly rudderless, listless effort on health care. I keep waiting for his renowned rope-a-dope strategy to manifest itself, but I'm not confident it will.
