Hornswaggler | The culture, the humor, a bit of the sports, not so much the politics, and the workplace distraction

Hornswaggle is an alternate spelling of hornswoggle, an archaic word that means to bamboozle or hoodwink. I take my pronunciation from the late Harvey Korman in "Blazing Saddles" --

"I want rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, conmen, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswagglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass kickers, shit kickers and Methodists!"

Bill Hader and the "lady wig"

The UPS ad spoofs from Saturday were pretty great. Also thought "The Chris Hansen Show" sketch was good -- Bill Hader as Hansen accosts his guests like they're pervs from "To Catch a Predator" -- but the video isn't up on the SNL site for whatever reason.

Not sure about this Gilly Christmas special. I love Kristen Wiig, but this is one of the few things she does that doesn't work. It's funny for a moment, with the expression on Wiig's face and the way Will Forte says "Gilly," and it probably cracks everybody up at the table read, but that's not enough to sustain a 5-minute sketch.
