Thursday, October 07, 2010Stewart and SanchezThere seems to have been some confusion among reporters and editors about Rick Sanchez's firing. I saw a lot of headlines and stories that appeared to suggest Sanchez was fired from CNN for calling Jon Stewart a bigot. That's not why he was fired. He was fired for comparing his bosses at CNN to Stewart, whom he had just described as a bigoted elitist, and throwing in a Jews-run-the-media platitude for good measure. If all he'd done was call Stewart a bigot, he probably would have been reprimanded and ordered to issue a statement of apology. I'm not sure what was so hard for everybody to understand here.
